Job summary

JDR Recruitment is seeking a Production Operator for a rotating shift role in Baglan, Port Talbot. You will operate extrusion machinery and monitor production processes to meet quality targets.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Production Operator

Location: Baglan, Port Talbot SA12 Area

Contract: Temporary to Permanent upon successful completion of 12 weeks' service. PAYE Contract.

Pay: £12.71/hour. Weekly Pay.

Shift Pattern

The role operates on a rotating continental shift pattern consisting of 12-hour shifts:

• Week 1: 5 shifts on, 2 shifts off
• Week 2: 2 shifts on, 5 shifts off

You will work:

• 2 weeks of day shifts
• Followed by 2 weeks of night shifts

The Role

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring extrusion machinery within a busy manufacturing environment. This is a physically demanding role that involves repetitive manual handling and prolonged periods of standing throughout the shift.

You will be required to lift and empty raw material bags weighing up to 25kg into the extrusion machinery. Due to the manufacturing process, which involves expanding raw materials using heat, temperatures within the department can become particularly warm.
