Job summary

Thorn Baker Industrial has an immediate opening for a Production Operative on an afternoon shift, Monday to Friday, 2pm-10pm. This temp-to-perm role involves moving pallets, packing, stock counting, and quality checks in a busy production environment.

You will work as part of a team, handling materials safely and efficiently, with a focus on accuracy and adherence to health and safety guidelines. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are required.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Safely moving pallets of products within the facility.
• Performing manual handling of materials, including lifting, stacking, and carrying items.
• Assembling and preparing boxes for packaging and distribution.
• Efficiently putting items into designated boxes, following company guidelines.
• Stacking pallets and organizing materials in a safe, orderly manner.
• Conducting stock counting to maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Inspecting products to ensure they meet quality control standards.
• Assisting with general production and stockroom organization.
• Adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• A strong work ethic and the ability to work in a physically demanding role.

Day-to-Day

• Begin with a team meeting to review the day’s priorities and safety guidelines.
• Move pallets of products to designated areas, using manual handling techniques and/or equipment.
• Assemble boxes, ensuring they are sturdy and meet packaging requirements.
• Place items into boxes according to detailed instructions, checking for accuracy.
• Inspect products for damage or defects and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Organize pallets for shipment or storage in a neat, stable configuration.
• Perform a stock count and log accurate inventory records in collaboration with the team.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace throughout your shift, including tidying up pallets, boxes, and other materials.

The shift times are 2pm-10pm Monday to Friday.

The basic pay is £12.75/h.
