Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Production Operator for our Manningtree site. You will run production lines at optimum speed, ensure high quality finished goods, and assist with assembly and packing on a 3-shift rotation (6:00–14:00, 14:00–22:00, 22:00–06:00).

Salary is £28,000 per annum and the role is full-time and permanent. We value safety, accuracy, and teamwork; you will work with planners and supervisors to meet schedules, complete Food Safety checks, and maintain clean production areas.

Responsibilities

• Line Operations: Run production lines at optimum speed, ensuring products meet high standards and assisting with assembly and packing.

• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to Health & Safety directives and Food Regulations.
• Hygiene Standards: Keep the production area clean and tidy, follow 'clean as you go' practices.
• Quality Control: Complete required paperwork and perform timely Food Safety Quality Checks.
• Reporting: Report hazards, near-misses, unsafe conditions or breaches to supervisor.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Line Operations: Run production lines at optimum speed, ensuring all products are made to a high standard, while assisting with the assembly and packing of goods.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with production planners, supervisors, and fellow operators to ensure schedules are met and training is up to date.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with Health & Safety directives and Food Regulations.
• Hygiene Standards: Keep the production area clean and tidy, actively adhering to a "clean as you go" policy and assisting with site cleaning as required.
• Quality Control: Complete all required paperwork accurately and carry out timely Food Safety Quality Checks.
• Reporting: Promptly report any hazards, near-misses, unsafe conditions, or procedural breaches to your supervisor or line manager.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

• Industry Knowledge: Previous experience or strong knowledge of Food Manufacturing.
• Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to build great working relationships within a team.
• Pace & Pressure: The ability to work well under pressure, adapt to change, and meet time-critical deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
• Independence: A self-motivated individual who works excellently both with a team and without supervision.
• Safety Mindset: A strong awareness of health and safety and how it affects your workplace.

Desirable (But not essential)

• A valid Reach Truck licence.
• Prior Manual Handling training.
• Basic computer skills.
• A flexible approach to working hours.
