Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group Limited is recruiting for a Production Operative to join our client in manufacturing high-quality mattress pocket spring components. The role involves operating clipping equipment, selecting components by code, and packaging products in a fast-paced setting.

The position requires experience in manufacturing, good numeracy and attention to detail, and a strong emphasis on health & safety.

• Carry out quality checks throughout the production process.
• Complete production paperwork and accurately record data.
• Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the production area.

Production Operative

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour

Shift Pattern: Rotating Shifts (41.25 hours per week)

• Days: 5:45am - 2:00pm
• Afters: 1:45pm - 10:00pm
• Nights: 9:45pm - 6:00pm

We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to join our client producing high-quality mattress pocket spring components.

Duties will include:

• Operating pneumatic clipping equipment to attach frames to pocket spring units
• Selecting correct frames and components using product codes and specifications
• Operating roll-pack machinery to package finished products
• Carrying out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
• Ensuring products are manufactured to customer specifications
• Completing production paperwork and accurately recording production data
• Following standard operating procedures and work instructions
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the production area
• Manual handling and movement of materials
• Reporting any faults, hazards or safety concerns promptly
• Adhering to all health & safety procedures and company policies

To be considered, you must have:

• Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Good physical fitness for manual handling and lifting duties
• Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
• Good numeracy skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with a good standard of written and spoken English
• Good organisation and housekeeping skills
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

This is a physically demanding role and would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.
