Job summary

Gap Personnel Limited is recruiting for a production operative to join a small team manufacturing mattress pocket spring components. You will work with precision to meet high safety, quality and efficiency standards while supporting both independent and collaborative work.

Rotating shifts cover days, afternoons and nights, with an hourly rate of £12.71. The role requires good numeracy, reliable attendance and a solid understanding of health and safety in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Physical fitness suitable for manual handling and lifting duties.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety principles and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate pneumatic clipping equipment to attach frames to pocket spring units.
• Select the correct frames and components using product codes and specifications.
• Operate roll-pack machinery to package finished products accurately.
• Ensure products are manufactured and packaged to exact customer specifications.
• Complete quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
• Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions at all times.
• Complete production paperwork and record production and quality data accurately.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the production area.
• Handle materials safely, including manual handling where required.
• Report hazards, faults or safety concerns promptly.

The Role

Working as part of a small production team, you will play an important role in manufacturing high-quality mattress pocket spring components while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency. You will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve production targets and maintain excellent manufacturing standards.

Hours:

Rotating Shift Pattern – 41.25hrs per week

Days 5:45am-2:00pm

Afters 1:45pm - 10:00pm

Nights 9:45pm-6:00am

Pay:

£12.71 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Operate pneumatic clipping equipment to attach frames to pocket spring units
