Position: Production Operative

We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to work in our Lamb or Beef section at our busy manufacturing site in Merthyr Tydfil.

This is a full-time, permanent position working starting at 5.30am/6.00am with a variable finish depending on workload — hours totaling 40 per week. Working days are Monday to Friday, with an hourly rate of £11.94.

Role Purpose

To work in our Lamb or Beef slaughter area, involving meat preparation. Tasks may include specialised slaughtering and trimming offal to required specifications, among other duties.

Role Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, skin, sort, and wash viscera of slaughtered animals to separate edible portions from offal.
• Clean materials for production.
• Process animal carcasses.
• Eviscerate and trim carcasses of slaughtered animals.
• Trim, clean, or cure animal hides.
• Skin sections or whole animals.
• Remove offal and prepare for further processing.
• Prepare meat products for sale or consumption.
• Dress carcasses to the correct specifications.
• Remove feet, ears, and horns.
• Perform general tasks within the abattoir.
