Job summary

Univar Solutions in the Cadishead area is seeking a Chemical Operative to join our team. You will safely prepare, fill and warehouse hazardous chemicals, load and offload vehicles and work with a team of other operatives.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will undertake FLT operations, perform routine checks, data logging and QA, and ensure documentation is completed accurately while following SOPs and safety policies to maintain high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a large-volume manufacturing environment.
• COSHH knowledge and safe handling of chemicals (desirable).
• Forklift licence and relevant safety certifications (desirable).
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Physically fit for an industrial environment.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and high quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure MHE is presented and operated properly.
• Ensure goods are produced, stored and dispatched in good condition.
• Complete required documentation.
• Comply with all policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
• Undertake FLT operations including order picking and loading/unloading hazardous goods.
• Safe loading of hazardous chemicals onto bulk road tankers.
• Perform routine checks, data logging and QA activities.
• Monitor process parameters and adjust controls for quality/efficiency.
• Operate chemical processing equipment per SOPs.

Duties

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Chemical Operative to join our Cadishead team.

Reporting to the Shift Manager, the successful candidate will safely prepare, fill and warehouse hazardous chemicals, load and offload vehicles and work within a team of other Chemical Operatives.

Key Responsibilities

• To ensure that MHE is properly presented and operated
• To ensure that the correct goods are produced, stored and dispatched in good condition
• To ensure the correct completion of documentation
• Be compliant to all policies, procedures and legislative requirements

Key Tasks

• Undertake FLT operations, including order picking and the loading/unloading of finished hazardous goods, while maintaining high safety standards and ensuring orders are completed accurately, on time, and to customer requirements.
• Undertake the safe loading of hazardous chemicals onto bulk road tankers.
• Complete routine checks, data logging, and quality assurance activities.
• Monitor process parameters and adjust controls to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• The successful candidates have experience working within a large-volume manufacturing or production environment.
• Knowledge of COSHH and the safe handling of chemicals and equipment (desirable but not essential).
• Forklift licence and relevant safety certifications (desirable).
