Responsibilities

  • Carry out media blasting on tanks and components following full training.
  • Clean and prepare tanks and components for further production processes.
  • Assist with the application of adhesive materials and bonding of components.
  • Assemble and prepare fixtures and jigs.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Follow drawings, work instructions and production processes.
  • Operate and maintain equipment safely and correctly.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in the production area.
  • Complete production paperwork and records accurately.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Production and Engineering departments.
  • Follow all health & safety, quality and company procedures.

Production & Engineering Operative

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Production & Engineering Operative on behalf of our client based in Bishop's Stortford, on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be working within the Production Department, carrying out a variety of practical manufacturing duties including media blasting, preparation and bonding of components. Previous sandblasting experience is not required, as full training will be provided. This role would suit someone from a practical, trade, engineering, manufacturing or workshop background who has a good work ethic and is keen to learn and develop.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Carry out media blasting on a variety of tanks and components following full training.
  • Clean and prepare tanks and components ready for further production processes.
  • Assist with the application of adhesive materials and bonding of components.
  • Assemble and prepare fixtures and jigs.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets the required quality standards.
  • Follow drawings, work instructions and established production processes.
  • Operate and maintain equipment safely and correctly.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards within the production area.
  • Complete production paperwork and records accurately.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Production and Engineering departments.
  • Follow all health & safety, quality and company procedures.
  • Carry out any other duties required for the effective operation of the department.
Experience, education & qualifications
  • Previous sandblasting or media blasting experience is not essential.
  • Previous experience within engineering, manufacturing, production, construction, automotive, maintenance or another practical trade would be advantageous.
  • Practical and hands-on approach to work.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and processes.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work procedures accurately.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work using own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working with tools, machinery and production equipment.
  • Health and safety conscious.

Hours: 08:00-16:30

Salary: £28,000 (DOE)
