Job summary

Randstad CPE is hiring a detail-oriented Visual Inspector I to join our production team in Swindon. This full-time, 12-month contract role involves manual visual inspections of filled vials under controlled conditions to ensure quality before products move to the next stage.

You will work onsite with rotating shifts, must pass a vision check, and have GCSEs in maths and English. Prior GMP exposure is preferred; candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• GCSE-level Mathematics and English (or equivalent).
• Must pass a required visual acuity check (vision correction is fine).
• Eligible to live and work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual visual inspections of filled vials in controlled inspection booths.
• Identify and remove defective units (particles, defects, cracks, chips, or fill issues).
• Maintain clear separation between accepted and rejected items.
• Record inspection results accurately following GDP.
• Comply strictly with SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Participate in routine vision checks and qualification assessments.

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday (Rotating shifts: 07:00 - 15:00 or 15:00 - 23:00)

Pay Rate: £13.86/hr + 22% shift allowance

About the Role

• Perform manual visual inspections of filled vials in controlled inspection booths.
• Identify and remove defective units (e.g., visible particulate matter, cosmetic defects, cracks, chips, or fill volume issues).
• Maintain clear separation between accepted and rejected items.
• Record inspection results accurately following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Comply strictly with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
• Participate in routine vision checks and qualification assessments.

Requirements

• Education: GCSE-level Mathematics and English (or equivalent).
• Must pass a required visual acuity check (vision correction is fine).
• High level of concentration, focus, and consistency during routine tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
• Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, or another regulated production environment.
• Basic understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles.
