Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Manager to lead and manage our Assembly facility at Runnings Road, Cheltenham. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality performance, output, and engagement to meet our business targets for profitable growth, customer service, safety, and employee engagement.
Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on…
- Engaging with other production managers and support functions (Production Engineering, Planning, Maintenance, HSE, HR) to deliver high-quality output.
- Providing strong leadership to reduce scrap and poor-quality outflow to customers.
- Setting and maintaining high standards, leading continuous improvement activities using 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
- Implementing visual management of areas against the standard way of working.
- Managing resources effectively with Production Coordinators and team.
- Contributing to the Plant Operations forward plan and budgeting process.
- Creating reports and management information for management teams against key performance measures.
- Delivering effective communication at shift start and end, and during handovers.
- Leading, driving, and motivating a team of Production Coordinators and team members in line with Core Values.
- Reviewing team productivity through effective performance management, including appraisals and managing poor performance.
- Developing team capabilities, identifying training needs, and ensuring training plans meet business needs, including succession planning.
- Managing the health, safety, and wellbeing of the team.
- Monitoring and managing Health, Safety, and Environment measures, including site H&S tours and audits.

- Experience in managing a team in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong and effective people management skills.
- Experience in assembly output and capacity management.
- Application of continuous improvement tools.
