Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is assisting a third-generation, family-owned agricultural and food production business in Mansfield to recruit a Production Manager. The role focuses on overseeing washing, grading and pre-packaging operations while driving safety, quality and efficiency.

You will lead Team Leaders, manage staffing and resources, and work with the Factory Manager to meet KPIs and continuous improvement goals. The position runs Monday to Friday, 6am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• Experience in a managerial role within a food manufacturing environment.
• Background in food manufacturing or fresh produce.

Responsibilities

Are you a Production Manager, with a background in food manufacturing or fresh produce, looking to take on a leadership role within an established business?

On offer is the opportunity to join a successful third-generation, family-owned agricultural and food production business specialising in the growing, packing and distribution of fresh root vegetables to major UK retailers. Having seen major growth over the last few years, the company is looking to expand its team.

You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations across the washing and pre-packaging facilities, ensuring production targets, quality standards and operational KPIs are consistently achieved.

Working closely with the Factory Manager, Team Leaders and wider operational departments, you will manage production performance, coordinate staffing and resources, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and maintain high standards of food safety and compliance.

The suitable candidate will have experience in a managerial position within a food manufacturing environment.

The Role
