Job summary

10 recruitment is seeking an experienced Production Manager in Normanton, West Yorkshire, to take control of day-to-day manufacturing operations and lead production teams. The role focuses on quality, efficiency, safety and continuous improvement, with reporting to the Operations Manager.

The ideal candidate will manage complex production processes, ensure production plans and despatch requirements stay on track, and drive improvements across the operation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading production teams and schedules.
• Strong understanding of production processes, quality, cost and efficiency.
• IT literacy and ability to prepare reports.
• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities; IOSH Managing Safely desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily production schedules, resources and KPIs.
• Lead and develop Production Supervisors and production teams.
• Drive improvements in quality, cost and efficiency.
• Identify bottlenecks, waste and downtime – and tackle them.
• Manage staffing levels, recruitment, onboarding and training.
• Coach, mentor and manage employee performance.
• Monitor rejects and support corrective actions.
• Ensure production meets demand and despatch requirements.
• Maintain health & safety, housekeeping and risk assessments.
• Produce production reports and keep senior management informed.
• Work closely with Procurement, Distribution and other departments.

We’re looking for an experienced Production Manager to take control of day-to-day manufacturing operations, leading production teams while driving quality, efficiency, safety and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for complex, multi-stage production processes and ensuring production plans and despatch requirements stay firmly on track.

What we’re looking for

You’ll need excellent people management skills alongside a strong technical understanding of production processes.

You should also be IT literate, comfortable preparing reports and have a solid understanding of health & safety responsibilities, including risk assessments.

A Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely is desirable.
