Job summary

Search Consultancy is recruiting a Production Line Technician for a market-leading medical manufacturer in Crawley. The role follows a night shift pattern of 4 on, 4 off.

You will set up, operate and monitor automated production machinery to ensure products meet quality standards and production targets. The ideal candidate has experience setting up production machinery, troubleshooting faults, and working toward production targets with a focus on health and safety.

The Opportunity

Working as part of the manufacturing team on the night shift pattern of 4 on, 4 off, you will be responsible for setting up, operating and monitoring automated production machinery, ensuring products meet the required quality standards and production targets.

The Role

As a Production Line Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Setting up and operating automated production machinery in line with established procedures and specifications.
• Carrying out machine adjustments, test runs and initial batch checks to ensure production runs smoothly and consistently.
• Monitoring machine performance and completing quality checks to ensure products meet customer requirements.
• Identifying and resolving machine faults through troubleshooting and fault-finding, escalating technical issues where necessary.
• Working closely with maintenance technicians, production colleagues and other departments to minimise downtime and improve performance.
• Achieving hourly and daily production targets while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.
• Maintaining accurate machine logs and communicating effectively during shift handovers.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve throughput and optimise machine performance.

About You

• Experience setting up and operating production machinery or automated production lines.
• The ability to troubleshoot machine faults and make adjustments in line with established procedures.
• Experience working towards production targets and maintaining quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to take ownership of your work.
• The ability to follow work instructions and procedures consistently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Experience within pharmaceutical, medical device or another regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous. Technical qualifications or maintenance training would also be beneficial.
