Job summary

Staffline in Chatteris is seeking a Production Line Leader to oversee daily production, drive performance, and maintain high quality for fresh flowers supplied to major supermarkets. The role is full-time, day-shift, with a 10-hour pattern and potential Christmas peak work.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or team management experience.
• Knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and health & safety protocols.
• Experience in fresh produce, food production, or FMCG environments.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Great communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and motivate the team to achieve performance targets and maintain high-quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and customer specifications across all processes.
• Deliver an efficient packing operation on a daily basis.
• Oversee daily operations, manage production schedules, and promptly resolve any issues.
• Provide training and ensure adherence to operational procedures and company policies.
• Support manufacturing initiatives and drive continuous improvement, ensuring all KPIs are met and work is within budgetary constraints.
• Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the packaging area.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping of production data, waste, and returns.

Job description

Great opportunity to work as a Production Line Leader for one of the largest providers of fresh flowers to major supermarket chains throughout the UK.

Staffline is recruiting for Production Line Leader in Chatteris.

Local candidates in Chatteris are encouraged to apply.

Transport is available for those travelling from Peterborough.

The rate of pay is:

• Day shift is paid at £14.50 per hour
• Overtime is paid at £18.13 per hour

This is a full-time, day-shift position.

The standard shift pattern is 10 hours per day, 4 days per week. Typical shifts will fall on either Sunday to Wednesday or Tuesday to Friday.

Working hours:

• 07:30am to 06:30pm

Please note you must be flexible and willing to work during Christmas peaks, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidates.

• Knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and health & safety protocols
• Experience in fresh produce, food production, or FMCG environments
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Great communication skills

The ideal candidate will be consistent and reliable, with a strong ability to lead by example and maintain a positive, solution-focused approach. Behavioural safety training and experience with the Rubicon ERP system are advantageous, as is experience in lean manufacturing and working with UK retailers in a manufacturing environment.

Additionally, you will need to have a flexible can-do attitude as you may be required to work in other areas or undergo training as necessary.
