Job description

Role Objectives

The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations to ensure efficient, high-quality production that meets quality specifications. They lead and mentor the production team, to drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with food safety and workplace regulations. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, optimizing resources, and resolving production issues to maintain smooth operations and meet production targets.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage daily operations in the production section to ensure the production of products as per specifications.

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor production activities to meet targets, ensuring optimal use of materials, machines, and labor.

  • Work closely with the planning department to align production timelines and meet delivery deadlines.

  • Quickly troubleshoot and resolve any production issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth continuity of operations.

  • Ensure all production activities comply with food safety regulations and collaborate with the Quality Assurance department maintain high-quality standards in products.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers and chefs to achieve performance goals.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship, including on-job coaching and resource support.

  • Promote and enforce workplace safety protocols, including conducting regular safety training and awareness programs.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, local laws) and address any safety hazards promptly.

  • Act as the primary point of contact between production and other departments, such as Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Planning, ensuring effective communication and smooth coordination.

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure the timely execution of preventive and corrective maintenance, minimizing disruptions to production.

  • Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

  • Mentor CI and Maintenance teams members to apply problem-solving techniques, identify and implement process improvements.

  • Ensure effective manpower planning across shifts.

  • Actively participate in team goal setting and implementation to ensure low-cost, high-quality production.

  • Own and lead the implementation of the Quality Risk Management Process (QRMP) standard as outlined in the plant's accountability list.

  • Participate in the annual planning process, identify areas for optimization, and contribute to plant HC (Headcount) optimization efforts.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and operational goals.

  • Coordinate cleaning activities within the department and can conduct checks as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green Belt) is a plus.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role.

  • Experience with production planning software and ERP systems.

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
