Babcock in Plymouth is seeking a Production Hub Lead to lead a large team of technicians at Devonport. Based on site, you will coordinate resources, drive productivity, and deliver engineering work across submarine classes, shaping the future of the UK's submarine programme while developing new capabilities and teams.

The role is full-time, 35 hours per week, and located on-site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with excellent development opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or managing teams with varying levels of technical experience.
• Experience within a mechanical or electrical engineering, manufacturing, production or maintenance environment. Preferably within the Defence or Commercial Marine field.
• Proven ability to coordinate resources and prioritise work to meet operational objectives.
• Experience of operating in a highly regulated environment
• Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across a complex organisation.
• Demonstrable success in driving performance improvement and developing people.

The role

As a Production Hub Lead, you’ll can play your part in leading a large team of specialist technician’s at Babcock’s Devonport facility, in Plymouth, Devon. Drawing on your leadership and engineering expertise, you will help shape the future of the UK's submarine programme while developing a new capability that will have a lasting impact on operational performance and efficiency.

Day-to-day, you’ll play a key role in supporting submarine deep maintenance by bringing pipe and reactor technician resources together into a central production hub delivering engineering tasks across the decommissioned, current and future Submarine classes. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and develop your own team, drive innovation, improve productivity, and influence how critical engineering work is delivered across the business. Your leadership will directly contribute to national defence capabilities while creating opportunities for your own professional growth and development.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience for the Reactor Production Hub Lead:

• Experience leading or managing teams with varying levels of technical experience.
• Experience within a mechanical or electrical engineering, manufacturing, production or maintenance environment. Preferably within the Defence or Commercial Marine field.
• Proven ability to coordinate resources and prioritise work to meet operational objectives.

Qualifications for the Production Hub Lead:

Essential

• HNC qualification or equivalent technical qualification.
• IOSH Managing Safely

Desirable

• Additional leadership, management or engineering qualifications.
• Nuclear Plant Foundation Course Module 1.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
