Job summary

Hot Sauce Pictures seeks a finance professional to lead production budgeting, cost control and reporting across its projects, in conjunction with Sony Pictures Television. The role covers corporate reporting, FP&A and audits, with potential shaping as Finance Manager or Head of Finance depending on experience.

Based in Belfast, the role requires in-office presence and full-time commitment. You will liaise with producers, SPVs, and broadcasters while overseeing day-to-day accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or Accounting Technician) or equivalent experience.
• Experience in production finance or a project-based/media finance environment.
• Good working knowledge of UK tax, PAYE, IR35, VAT and accounting standards.
• Strong budgeting, cost-tracking and forecasting skills.
• Confident communicator, liaising with producers, founders and a major studio's corporate accounting team.
• Self-starter, organised, detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; working knowledge of Sage or similar.

Responsibilities

• Production Finance: manage budgets, track spend and flag overspend early.
• Maintain cost reports, cash flows and forecasts across live productions.
• Obtain monthly reports from production accountants and perform reconciliations.
• Wrap and final cost reporting at end of each production.
• Incorporate SPVs, open production bank accounts and arrange signatories.
• Prepare and monitor development budgets with broadcasters and funders.
• Company Finance: manage bank reconciliations and ledgers; issue invoices.
• Payroll processing and liaise with payroll provider.
• SAP or similar accounting systems usage.
• Corporate Reporting & Sony Liaison: monthly reporting, budgeting, FP&A cycle participation.
• Support audits, tax credits, and statutory reporting.
• Compliance: VAT, PAYE, IR35, VAT reporting and ONS returns.
• Help build finance processes and guide production accountants and staff.
