Job summary

Hot Sauce Pictures, backed by Sony Pictures Television, seeks a finance professional to own production budgeting, cost reporting and FP&A activities across its UK productions and SPVs. You will work closely with producers and production accountants and collaborate with Sony on monthly reporting packages and audits.

The role may evolve from Finance Manager to Head of Finance, with increasing ownership of audit, FP&A and reporting, while Sony’s involvement reduces over time.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage production budgets alongside producers; track spend against budget and flag potential overspend early.
• Maintain cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts across live productions.
• Liaise with production accountants to obtain month-end reports and produce monthly production reconciliations.
• Manage wrap and final cost reporting at the end of each production.
• Prepare and monitor scripted development budgets, liaising with broadcasters and development funders.
• Perform day-to-day bank reconciliations and credit/procurement card reconciliations; manage relationships with banking providers.
• Manage sales and purchase ledgers; raise and pay invoices in a timely manner.
• Raise sales invoices to broadcasters and distributors in line with milestones.
• Process payroll and liaise with payroll provider; maintain SAP or equivalent systems.
• Produce monthly management accounts; support month-end close and trial balance sign-off.
• Lead or support statutory audits and tax credit audits.
• Support VAT, PAYE, IR35 compliance and tax credit claims.
