Job summary

Premier Placement Services' client, a well-established manufacturing business, is seeking a Production Engineer in Leicester to translate customer requirements into efficient, cost-effective manufacturing processes.

You will work with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and suppliers to ensure high standards, maintain BOMs and routings, support continuous improvement and tooling design.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specs.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems, BOM creation and routings.
• Strong problem-solving and organisation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation control.
• Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Review customer orders and ensure technical information is accurate.
• Create and maintain BOMs and routings in the ERP/MRP system.
• Produce and maintain material, component and manufacturing drawings.
• Estimate production costs and maintain costing data.
• Design tooling, jigs and fixtures to support efficient manufacturing.
• Provide day-to-day engineering support to manufacturing operations.
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure tooling meets specs.
• Support engineering change management through drawings and BOM updates.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, cost and throughput.
• Support process optimisation and standardisation initiatives.
