Job summary

GTS International in Bedfordshire is seeking a Production Engineer to support the transition of new and existing products into efficient, repeatable production.

You will own manufacturing and test processes across electronics and electro-mechanical products, lead and improve New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, and develop manufacturing methods, fixtures and work instructions while driving Lean improvements and data-led performance enhancements.

Qualifications

• Experience in Production Engineering in electronics or electro-mechanical manufacturing.
• Knowledge of NPI, DFM and DFT principles.
• Experience creating manufacturing processes, test methods, fixtures and work instructions.
• Lean / Six Sigma and continuous improvement experience.
• Experience using ERP systems and BOMs to support operations.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage transition of developmental products into production ensuring manufacturability, testability and cost effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing and test processes, instructions, fixtures and documentation.
• Analyse production workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency, quality and cost improvements.
• Diagnose issues, implement corrective actions and train production personnel.
• Monitor KPIs and drive data-led continuous improvement.
• Liaise with Engineering, suppliers and subcontract manufacturers to maintain quality and delivery performance.

Production Engineer

Location: Bedfordshire

Salary: £50,000-£55,000

We are currently looking for someone to join an established engineering and manufacturing business as a Production Engineer, supporting the transition of new and existing products into efficient, repeatable production.

Main role overview:

• Take ownership of manufacturing and test processes across electronics and electromechanical products, ensuring quality, reliability, cost and delivery targets are achieved.
• Lead and improve New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, working closely with Engineering to ensure designs are optimised for manufacture and test.
• Develop and implement effective manufacturing methods, production fixtures, test processes and detailed work instructions.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean / Six Sigma principles, process optimisation and data-led performance improvements.
• Work closely with production teams, suppliers and subcontract manufacturers to resolve issues and improve manufacturing capability.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Production Engineering within electronics or Electro-Mechanical manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of NPI, Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes, test methods, fixtures and work instructions.
• Working knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma and continuous improvement techniques.
• Experience using ERP systems, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production data to support manufacturing operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Manufacturing and external suppliers.

Responsibilities:
