Job summary

Executive Network Group is seeking an experienced Production Engineer for a global manufacturing environment in Shropshire. You will manage CAPEX projects, lead NPI/tooling integration, and drive MES/Industry 4.0 initiatives to improve OEE and process capability.

Responsibilities

• Implement production process improvements to optimise performance, OEE, ergonomics or capability.
• Create CAPEX machinery & tooling specifications.
• Coordinate introduction of new products (NPI) & tooling through trial builds & training.
• Specify and facilitate MES, Industry 4.0, digitisation & automation implementations.
• Lead capability studies on new processes and equipment.
• Review and improve SOPs, PFMEA, process control plans, flow and operations.
• Optimise process flow, reduce defects and waste using lean methods (VA/VE, line balancing, Kaizen, Yamazumi).

Job Description

• Implement process improvements in production to optimise process performance, OEE, aid ergonomics or improve capability
• Create CAPEX machinery & tooling specifications
• Co-ordinate introduction of new products (NPI) & tooling through trial builds & training
• Specification and facilitate implementation MES, Ind 4.0, digitisation & automation
• Lead capability studies on new processes and equipment,
• Review and improve SOP/ work instructions, PFMEA, process control plans, process flow, standard operations and capability
• Optimise process flow , defect reduction and minimise waste through use of lean manufacturing methods - VA/VE, line balancing, Kaizen, Yamazumi

Experience

You will already be a competent Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Industrial Engineer or Production Engineer with previous experience within high volume or large batch mechanical manufacturing background

• HND/ Degree level or equivalent education in engineering or similar technical discipline
• Proven experience leading process improvement and capital equipment (CAPEX) projects including specification, cost justification and vender management through to project buy off and successful job1 launch.
• Lead PFMEA process for current and future projects
• Experience of high volume series production processes and equipment ideally incorporating semi-automated or fully automated product assembly.
• Experience gained within automotive OEM, tier 1 or similar fast pace high quality metrics environment
• Good communication skills for effective liaison and teamwork.
• Hands on approach with problem solving, analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on several tasks or projects concurrently.
