Job description

Focused Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our client's manufacturing site in the Caerphilly area.

The role reports to the Production Engineering Team Leader and involves supporting new product development from the implementation phase into production.

Hours of Work

The position is full-time, working 38 hours per week.

Duties

• Creation and maintenance of 3D CAD models, including producing 2D drawings.
• Collaborate with external suppliers on part details and specifications.
• Design and manufacture jigs and fixtures.
• Participate in progress meetings across departments.
• Design and create assembly line layouts as needed.
• Manage engineering change requests and track progress.
• Implement corrective actions and product improvements, including cost-saving initiatives.
• Re-test products to validate improvements and cost reductions.
• Participate in DFMEA and PFMEA meetings.
• Maintain elements of the portal related to implementation.
• Work within ISO9001 Quality Management System and internal procedures.

Overview

To succeed in this role, you should have experience as a Production Engineer, with knowledge of CAD for designing and manufacturing jigs and fixtures. You should be capable of participating in meetings to implement best practices, corrective actions, and production improvements.
