We believe our strength is not just in our steel but in the diversity of our people. Our people make the difference.

Do you have the skills to keep electrical systems running at their best?

Are you confident working safely in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment?

If so, we’re looking for a qualified Electrician to join the engineering team at Catnic, based in Caerphilly.

Catnic is a recognised leader in the construction industry. We supply high-quality products to builders, developers and distributors across the UK and beyond. Our reputation is built on reliability, innovation and quality – and we need talented people like you to help us keep delivering.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of our close-knit engineering team, you’ll report to the Electrical Engineering Manager and be responsible for keeping our plant and equipment running efficiently. You’ll handle day-to-day electrical maintenance, carry out preventative work, and help implement improvements that make a difference to performance and reliability.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Maintain and repair machinery and support systems to reduce downtime
  • Carry out preventative maintenance to avoid unplanned issues
  • Support improvements to equipment and working processes
  • Play an active role in your own learning and development
  • Help deliver projects and upgrades that improve site performance
  • Work alongside colleagues across departments and support third-party contractors when needed

Your work will help ensure customer orders are met on time, safely, and to a high standard – contributing directly to the success of the wider business.

What You’ll Need

To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll need to be a time-served electrician, ideally with a recognised qualification in electrical engineering or a related discipline.

You should also have:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • A flexible, proactive approach with a focus on safety
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with PLCs and control systems (preferred but not essential)
  • A commitment to continuous improvement

If you’re looking for a hands-on role where your skills make a real impact – and you want to be part of a supportive team that takes pride in what it does – we’d love to hear from you.
