Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking a Production Compounder in Northampton to accurately weigh and prepare aroma chemicals, oils and powders according to formulations, following SOPs and Health & Safety rules.

The role involves strict adherence to quality, safety and housekeeping, operating day shifts then night shifts, with collaborative work across departments to meet production targets and ensure efficient batch completion.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in manufacturing or production is preferred.
  • Valid driving licence is essential due to the location.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong numeracy and communication skills.
  • Basic IT literacy.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics AX is advantageous.
  • Forklift Licence is desirable but not essential.
  • Flexible approach to shift work is required.

Responsibilities

  • Verify tank and container labels against production documentation.
  • Precisely weigh and compound raw materials per formulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of equipment and work areas.
  • Adhere to FIFO procedures when handling raw materials.
  • Assist with combining completed batches and verify weights prior to packing.
  • Complete handover documentation for unfinished tasks.
  • Promptly report errors, spills, defects or health and safety concerns.
  • Uphold high standards of health, safety, hygiene and housekeeping.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and communicate clearly with other departments.
  • Support stock handling, material movements and general production duties.
  • Contribute to achieving production targets and maintaining quality standards.
  • Perform any additional duties necessary for daily operations.

Job description

Production Compounder

Job Purpose

This role will initially operate during day shifts (08:30–17:00), Monday to Friday, before transitioning to night shifts (22:00–06:00) after a few months.

The primary responsibility is to accurately weigh and prepare synthetic and natural aroma chemicals, oils, and powdered substances in accordance with specified formulations. This must be carried out following company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Health & Safety regulations. The Production Compounder will collaborate within a team to ensure products meet the required quality standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify tank and container labels against production documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Precisely weigh and compound raw materials as per formulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of equipment and work areas at all times.
  • Adhere to FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures when handling raw materials.
  • Assist with combining completed batches and verify weights prior to packing.
  • Complete handover documentation for any unfinished tasks.

Skills and Attributes
