Job summary

Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) is seeking an Application Support Analyst in London to join the Technology Operations team. You will support business-critical applications, investigate incidents, and fix issues across the application portfolio while communicating with stakeholders.

You will read and debug Java, query SQL databases, and contribute to modernization efforts. The role offers a permanent, on-site position with a comprehensive benefits package at LGIM.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries and use stored procedures.
• Reading and debugging Java code to identify faults.
• Experience supporting business-critical applications in production environments.
• Knowledge of relational databases, especially Sybase.
• Understanding incident, problem and change management processes.
• Clear communication to varied audiences and proactive learning mindset.
• Relevant Computer Science degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in financial services or asset management is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support business-critical applications in a production environment.
• Investigate incidents using logs, SQL queries, stored procedures and application code.
• Diagnose issues across application, database, and integration layers.
• Read and debug Java code to identify faults and improvements.
• Manage incidents, problems, requests and changes through ITIL-like processes.
• Communicate impact, progress and resolution times to stakeholders.
• Deliver fixes, enhancements and preventative improvements.
• Contribute to modernization of the application estate and adoption of new tools.
