Team/Role Overview

The Global Domestic Instant Payments team is at the forefront of innovation in global payments, delivering solutions for our network spanning over more than 50 markets. We're developing solutions that align with clients' increasingly regional and global business models, anticipating the future of 24/7/365 instant payment capabilities. Through close collaboration and client co-creation, we develop solutions that meet their critical business needs as the world expands to a more instant network. Our focus is on delivering a best-in-class client experience and building a world-class global Instant Payments/Real-Time Payment solution with features that keep our clients ahead of the curve. This innovative solution complements our existing payment products and empowers clients to thrive in an always-on, global marketplace. Our continuous investment in this space demonstrates our commitment to leading the industry in next-generation payment solutions.

This role focuses on developing and managing our Instant Payments product, with a strong emphasis on product governance, risk, and control, and a significant commercialization aspect. Citi's Instant Payments are already live in over 50 markets, reaching over 65 countries. As the Global Instant Payments Product Manager, you'll be a key part of the payments product team, leading the strategy and execution of the Instant Payments roadmap. You'll oversee development, the commercial launch of new markets and product capabilities, and ensure adherence to risk and control frameworks. This role offers the opportunity to drive strategic initiatives, identify value-creation opportunities, and develop solutions that encourage global adoption of Instant Payments. You'll play a crucial role in our go-to-market strategy by bringing cutting-edge, risk-compliant solutions to market, actively participating in commercialization efforts.

What you will do:

Your primary objective is to support and execute the global strategy for Instant Payments, including crucial aspects of product governance, risk management, and control, as well as playing a key role in product commercialization. This involves developing, rolling out, and commercializing robust and innovative instant payment capabilities, ensuring consistent functionality across regions while adhering to regulatory requirements and internal risk policies. The goal is to enable our clients to send and receive payments instantly and securely, meeting their treasury and commerce needs.

You should possess payments expertise, a strong understanding of risk management principles, and proven commercial acumen to drive competitive differentiation in the instant payments space while maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance. Responsibilities include:

  • Research client needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape to inform global product strategy, while considering regulatory, risk, and commercialization implications.
  • Understand and anticipate evolving client needs and regulatory changes to ensure our product capabilities and roadmap deliver continuous, commercially relevant innovation within established risk parameters and market demands.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and product scorecards for Citi's Global Instant Payment offering, including risk, control, and commercialization metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, commercialization, marketing, legal, compliance, and product development teams to create and implement effective product launch plans and support client discussions on Instant Payments.
  • Continuously improve product offerings and go-to-market strategies based on performance data, market feedback, risk assessments, and commercialization objectives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including risk and control functions and commercialization teams, to ensure our payment capabilities are rolled out and commercialized effectively while maintaining compliance and meeting market needs.
  • Champion the adoption of best-in-class product governance models, leading training sessions and internal communications on new product releases, capabilities, roadmaps, schedules, risk management best practices, and commercialization strategies.
  • Work closely with Technology, Operations, Service, Compliance, Business Managers, Legal, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives, ensuring alignment with risk and control frameworks and commercialization goals.

What we'll need from you:

  • Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem (Real-Time Payments/Instant Payments preferred), including product management and commercialization.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing commercialization and go-to-market strategies, including product positioning, pricing models, and sales enablement.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and market trends to inform decisions and strategy.
  • Proven experience in client co-creation and collaboration, with a demonstrated ability to translate client needs into product solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a complex, multi-country environment.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and developing new opportunities.
  • Intellectual curiosity, analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Experience building and managing relationships internally and externally to influence and coordinate stakeholders toward common goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop solutions and drive results.

Competencies:

  • Client-centric mindset.
  • Strong risk and control mindset, with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance obligations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and results-driven.
  • Experienced presenter with a creative approach and the ability to synthesize information.
  • Energetic, passionate, and dynamic self-starter.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to advocate a position and influence teams.

What we can offer you:

Development Value:
