Job summary

Honda Motor Europe seeks a Product Safety Specialist to coordinate Market Actions across Car and Motorcycle, including Safety Recalls, Product Updates, Delivery Stops and Warranty Extension campaigns.

The role will support all stages of campaign delivery, including service bulletin issuance, campaign monitoring and reporting, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance campaign performance through proactive action projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present information for Market Action campaign reviews across Branches and Distributors.
  • Gather information to initiate campaigns, including service bulletin creation and warranty setup across Europe.
  • Monitor campaign performance through regular reporting and analysis.
  • Investigate campaign performance and recommend remedial actions with stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement new customer contact and engagement approaches.
  • Coordinate information for European Product Safety Campaigns and circulate accordingly.
  • Support Branches/Distributors for campaign or product inquiries for Car, Motorcycle, and Power Products.
  • Contribute to business plan objectives and targets.
  • Project manage activities, potentially with external suppliers and other Honda departments.
  • Support funding requests for campaign improvement programmes and VIN categorisation.
  • Manage Honda Motor Europe’s Recall Portal and assist new systems implementations.
  • Participate in and organize departmental meetings, virtual or in-person.

Job description

At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 – 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.

Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home 2 days per week, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.

Role:

The Product Safety Specialist is responsible for coordinating Market Actions across Car and Motorcycle, including Safety Recalls, Product Updates, Delivery Stops and Warranty Extension campaigns. The role will involve supporting all stages of campaign delivery, undertaking activities such as service bulletin issuance, campaign monitoring and reporting, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance campaign performance through proactive action projects.

The position requires regular engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, from team members and peers through to senior managers and Branch/Distributor management teams, including the presentation of information and recommendations. The role will also coordinate and drive the delivery of product safety actions across multiple countries within the European region, ensuring activities are effectively planned, tracked and executed to support successful campaign outcomes.

Occasional travel across the UK and European region will be required to support product safety activities and attend face-to-face meetings where necessary.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and presenting information related to ongoing market action campaigns and performance across Branches and Distributors for the Monthly Business Plan Review meetings.
  • Gathering and creating all necessary information to start market campaigns, including service bulletin creation and completing warranty set-up documents for all European, NATO (Military Vehicles) and Grey Import campaigns. Monitoring ongoing campaign performance via frequent report analysis.
  • Carrying out market investigations to understand campaign performance in each Branch/Distributor (including Focus Branches), reporting findings and recommending remedial actions to the Product Safety Section Manager, including discussions with branches and distributors where required.
  • Identifying, evaluating and implementing new and innovative customer contact and engagement techniques.
  • Collating Sales Country information for all new European Product Safety Campaigns and circulating it accordingly.
  • Providing support to Branches/Distributors for campaign or product enquiries for Car, Motorcycle, and Power Products.
  • Providing information and input into business plan objectives and targets.
  • Project managing activities, which may include working with an external supplier and/or other internal Honda Motor Europe departments, making sure that any project remains within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Gathering and supplying the information required for Honda Motor to support funding requests for campaign improvement programmes and VIN categorisation, ensuring efficient global campaign performance.
  • Managing the day-to-day operation of Honda Motor Europe’s Recall Portal and supporting the introduction of new systems and technologies.
  • Participating in and contributing to regular departmental business and quality meetings, including arranging and hosting of meetings when required, either virtually or face-to-face.
Qualifications, skills and experience:

Required

  • Experience of producing reports and analysing data, identifying trends, monitoring performance and supporting recommendations for improvement.
  • Highly computer literate and numerate, with the ability to work with large amounts of data to a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and ownership when working independently.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to build and maintain effective working relationships both within Honda and with external partners.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to present information and recommendations clearly to a range of audiences, including senior management.
  • An understanding of how customer engagement and communication can support successful campaign outcomes.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple activities and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel as required, including overseas.
  • Demonstrable experience of project management is preferred.
  • Experience or an interest in the automotive business would be beneficial.
