Product Safety Manager

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose

BAE Systems, the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor, supports the Royal Saudi Air Force by maintaining aircraft, training RSAF personnel, and fostering Saudi National capability through local partnerships. The Product Safety Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing the Safety & Environmental Management System (SEMS) for safe operations on projects, providing guidance to ensure safety risks are managed within set standards and timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain the Safety and Environmental Management Plan.
  2. Manage the implementation of SEMS, hazard logs, and safety programs.
  3. Investigate accidents and incidents, and communicate lessons learned.
  4. Lead safety audits, assessments, and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
  5. Support safety reviews and safety documentation production.
  6. Engage with stakeholders to foster a safety culture and ensure safety training.
Minimum Requirements
  • Educated to Honours degree level; Chartered Engineer or MSc in safety-related discipline preferred.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) managing Safety & Environmental Engineering activities, especially in aerospace or similar industries.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards like Part 145, Part M, Def-Stan, PUWER, HSE, RIDDOR.
  • Experience in hazard management, risk assessment, safety investigations, and safety case production.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, innovative problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.
Additional Qualifications
  • Understanding of RSAF organizational structure and safety regulations.
  • Experience with safety assessment processes and safety management systems tailored to project needs.
