Qualifications

• Ideal professional registration (EngTech/IEng/CEng)
• Experience in engineering/manufacturing/defence/tech environments
• Familiar with Defence Standards 00-056 and safety management
• Hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety assurance principles
• Experience producing safety documentation and technical reports
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Structured, analytical approach to multiple tasks

Responsibilities

• Lead and support product safety activities across the full engineering lifecycle.
• Identify hazards and assess risks, defining proportionate reduction measures.
• Apply safety techniques such as FMEA/FTA/HAZID/HAZOP and safety cases.
• Develop and maintain hazard logs, safety plans, and safety reports.
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams.
• Review designs, specs, test evidence, and change proposals for safety.
• Support verification, validation, and compliance activities including testing and audits.
• Provide safety advice to project teams, suppliers and customers.
• Monitor legislation and industry guidance and translate changes into actions.
