Job summary

Whitemeadow in Nottinghamshire is seeking a Product Quality Supervisor & Assurance to uphold and continuously improve product quality across our upholstery manufacturing operations. This hands-on, site-based role partners with production to embed quality standards and achieve right-first-time results.

With a strong furniture upholstery background and a proactive, coaching mindset, you’ll lead improvement actions, perform quality reviews, and support audits while promoting our Vision and Values

Qualifications

• Experience in managing product and process non-conformances.
• Ability to interpret quality data and apply insights on site.
• Proactive, detail-oriented approach with strong problem solving.
• Confident communicator capable of influencing teams.
• Proven background in furniture upholstery manufacturing.
• Experience with quality/assurance in a manufacturing setting.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and NCR-driven systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day quality needs across the site holistically.
• Collaborate with production to share quality performance and expectations.
• Identify improvements across people, products and processes and drive resolution.
• Ensure tasks meet process, regulatory, NCR and ISO requirements.
• Support management with quality improvements, training, and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain quality standards in upholstery operations including prep, frame, sewing and finishing.
• Deliver toolbox talks on quality topics as needed.
• Assist new product introductions with Quality and Development teams.
• Coordinate with customer teams to inspect replacement orders before dispatch.
• Maintain visible quality messaging and on-site visual management.
• Prepare and present quality updates for stakeholder meetings.
• Support housekeeping and compliance during visits and audits.
• Uphold health & safety responsibilities for self and others.
• Promote Whitemeadow Vision & Values in all activities.

About the job

We are looking for a Product Quality Supervisor & Assurance to join our Quality team and play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving product quality across our manufacturing operations.

This is a hands-on, site-based role, working closely with production teams to ensure our quality standards are understood, embedded, and consistently achieved throughout the upholstery manufacturing process.

You’ll be a visible presence on the shop floor supporting, challenging, and coaching teams to deliver right-first-time quality.

If you have a strong background in furniture upholstery manufacturing, a sharp eye for detail, and the confidence to communicate clearly with people at all levels, this could be an excellent next step.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day quality requirements of the site from a holistic perspective.
• Working closely with production teams to communicate current quality performance and expectations.
• Identifying areas for improvement across people, products, and processes, and supporting their resolution.
• Ensuring quality tasks are met in line with process, regulatory, NCR and ISO requirements.
• Supporting site management with quality-related improvement actions, training needs, and disciplinary processes, seeing them through to conclusion.
• Ensuring quality standards are consistently applied within upholstery operations, including prepping, frame assembly, sewing, and finishing, to minimise product rejects.
• Delivering quality-focused toolbox talks where required.
• Supporting new product introductions in collaboration with the wider Quality and Development teams.
• Working with customer-facing teams to inspect replacement orders prior to dispatch, when required.Maintaining visible quality messaging and visual management tools on site.
• Preparing and presenting clear feedback and quality updates for stakeholder meetings.
• Supporting good housekeeping standards, particularly during customer visits and audits
• Upholding health and safety responsibilities for yourself and others.
• Living and promoting the Whitemeadow Vision & Values in everything you do.
• You may also be asked to carry out additional tasks within your capability to support business needs.

• Strong ability to identify and address product and process non‑conformance.
• Ability to understand and interpret quality data and performance statistics and apply them practically on site.
• A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with strong attention to detail.
• Confident communicator, able to engage individuals and groups to improve performance
• Proven experience within furniture upholstery manufacturing.
• Experience working within a quality or assurance role in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with ISO or NCR‑driven quality systems.
