Job summary

Syngenta Vegetables and Flowers is seeking a skilled trial scientist to lead and manage research trials for a diverse portfolio of vegetable crops. You will design, execute and analyze trials, ensuring high-quality data to drive product advancement decisions and variety placement.

The role requires collaboration with breeding, marketing and commercial teams, excellent communication, and willingness to travel within the country.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Crop Science or related field with 2–3 years experience.
• Fluency in English and local language; demonstrated strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in plant variety trialing, field trial design, statistical analysis and data interpretation.
• Practical knowledge in plant breeding and seed business, crop management and agronomy/horticulture practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan annual trialing plan for respective crop(s) and area of responsibility.
• Organize external (off-station) trials with growers following trial protocols.
• Design, implement, and analyze trials to evaluate crop performance and collect high‑quality data.
• Select and optimize trial locations aligned with targeted markets and customer segments.
• Prepare and negotiate trial contracts with growers.
• Collaborate with breeding, marketing and commercial teams to promote PLC6 advancements.
• Present trial data to support product advancement decisions and market placement.
