Working closely with business segments, Business Agility is accountable for delivering digital capabilities that balance short-term and long-term needs for impactful outcomes. It also supports the evolution to a global delivery model with local service and cost-effectiveness.

The Product Owner role is part of the Underwriting Domain within Business Agility. The team provides the delivery skills and resources required to prioritize and deliver technology business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and communicate the long-term vision and strategy for this multi-faceted product portfolio, aligning with business goals and technological capabilities.
  • Drive process innovation and improvements to optimize workflows.
  • Find innovative solutions to complex challenges, enhancing product features and processes to meet evolving business needs.
  • Communicate the product and portfolio vision to squads/teams and external teams.
  • Ensure squads contribute towards achieving product KPIs. Manage products with low to medium strategy, scope, and complexity.
  • Own and maintain multiple product backlogs, ensuring clear prioritization and acceptance criteria. Develop actionable user stories.
  • Set priorities and participate in quarterly planning sessions. Manage expectations with stakeholders regarding delivery of capabilities and features across multiple products.
  • Participate in demos, retrospectives, and other Scrum ceremonies.
  • Work daily with the Agile working group to clarify requirements, remove roadblocks, and support alignment on product strategy.
  • Align development and business goals, working with stakeholders and teams to remove execution barriers.
  • Monitor and maintain product health, supporting long-term viability and balancing costs with outcomes.
  • Analyze feasibility, delays, economies, and potential impacts of planned changes.
  • Understand regulatory, compliance, and industry constraints, prioritizing accordingly.
  • Negotiate with squads to ensure portfolio priorities are aligned.
  • Build product roadmaps based on strategy and stakeholder input.
  • Communicate expected value and changes in each iteration based on team capacity.
  • Contribute to customer-driven design and usability testing, ensuring market and industry relevance.
Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in commercial & specialty insurance is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, written, presentation) with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate technical language into understandable business terms.
  • Keen problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
