As a Product Officer (Web), you'll help improve websites and digital services that support the public, healthcare professionals, researchers and other key audiences.
You'll work within the Digital Communications team to identify opportunities for improvement using analytics, user research and stakeholder insight, helping turn evidence into delivered outcomes.

As Product Officer (Web), you will play a key role in improving and maintaining Public Health Wales' web estate, helping ensure digital services meet user needs and support organisational priorities.
Working within the Digital Communications team, you will use analytics, user feedback and stakeholder insight to identify opportunities for improvement across websites, content and user journeys.
You will help translate user and business needs into clear actions, manage product backlogs, coordinate delivery activities and support digital improvements.
You will work closely with colleagues across Public Health Wales, providing advice and guidance on web standards, accessibility requirements and digital best practice.
The role requires strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, explain complex digital concepts in plain English and build consensus around proposed changes.
The post holder will support the planning and delivery of website enhancements, monitor performance using web analytics, and help ensure digital products and services are developed in line with accessibility standards, organisational policies and user-centred design principles.

Specialist knowledge of digital/web services alongside a range of communications practices, procedures and methodologies, underpinned by theoretical knowledge and significant postgraduate-level training or equivalent practical experience; including digital product approaches (user needs, prioritisation, iteration, accessibility and standards) and understanding of communications, public relations and marketing techniques )
Understanding of how analytics, user research and feedback, alongside communications and engagement approaches, inform improvements, support decision-making and shape effective digital and organisational communications
Training or experience in Agile or iterative delivery approaches
Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and how they apply to websites
Delivering improvements to digital content, journeys or features from initial requirements to completed updates
Using evidence (analytics, user needs, feedback) to make recommendations
Planning and organising tasks across a small project or workstream and delivering them to agreed timescales
Working with others to translate needs into clear actions or specifications
Able to present complex and sensitive project information to groups, including stakeholders and project board

Manage defined streams of work within the web product roadmap, planning and coordinating complex activities such as delivery of website improvements by organising tasks, clarifying requirements, managing timelines and ensuring progress is monitored and documented
Work with teams to define and interpret complex user and business needs for web content or features, organising these into clear, prioritised plans and work packages to support delivery
Use analytics and feedback tools to analyse and interpret complex data and user needs, evaluate options and exercise judgement to determine appropriate solutions where multiple courses of action exist
Identify improvements to pages or journeys and make recommendations that support user needs and organisational goals, considering priorities and contributing to the planning of wider workstreams
Prepare prototypes, page outlines or annotated examples to explain what needs to change and help colleagues visualise proposed improvements, supporting the organisation and delivery of planned activities

The salary scale shown is for a full‑time member of staff, with the amount being adjusted pro rata for those working less than 37.5 hours per week.
In general, anyone joining our Trust who has not previously worked in the NHS will, by default, start on the first point of the advertised pay band. Pay progression will then be determined by annual Performance and Development Reviews in accordance with the NHS Wales Pay Progression Policy .
