The Opportunity



Cycle Pharmaceuticals is looking for an experienced and confident team member to join our Product Management Department as a Product Manager, Commercial.

Overview of the role: We are looking for a Product Manager, Commercial to be responsible for championing Cycle's products and its patient base within the business. This role will involve management of key projects related to Cycle's products from commercial launch and beyond.

This role will be responsible for the gathering, articulation and prioritisation of product requirements, based on a deep understanding of Cycle's products, disease states and patient communities. The Product Manager, Commercial will also be responsible for managing product changes impacting multiple departments across the business. The successful candidate will define product training requirements, working closely with the Training Manager, to ensure that the product is accurately represented by our sales and patient support teams.

This role will interface between Sales, our Patient Hub Cycle Vita, Commercial Operations and Data, Marketing, Brand Management, Regulatory Affairs, PMO, Quality and Finance.

The Cambridge team is relatively small but highly dynamic, and the work environment is representative of an expanding company, hence requiring an adaptive and pragmatic mindset. Coaching and mentoring to support continuous learning and professional development will be provided and tailored to individual needs.

Position Summary: This is a full-time position within the Product Management department, working in our Cambridge office.

What You Will Be Doing



Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for championing assigned commercial products and patient bases across the business, whilst maintaining adherence to Cycle's product strategy across all departments.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps, gain management approval and work closely with all departments to manage and report impact and priorities.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of assigned commercial products, diseases states and patient communities.
  • Project Lead on relevant cross-department commercial projects such as product launches and patient migrations, in partnership with the PMO when relevant.
  • Support the brand management team in the development of marketing activities and execution of campaigns in line with the product strategy.
  • Define the training requirements for each product and work closely with the Training Manager to ensure that the product is accurately represented across sales and patient support roles.
  • Responsible for facilitating the feedback loop from Sales and reporting insight and actions to the commercial management team.
  • Acquire, distil and disseminate market intelligence and product feedback. Utilize this information to identify strategic opportunities for consideration.
  • Work with the Commercial Operations and Data teams to utilize data and facilitate the management team's strategic decision making.
  • Work in partnership with the labelling team to define scope of activities for labelling changes in commercial departments, such as marketing, sales and patient support, and prioritise accordingly.
  • Owner of day-to-day relationships with MAH partners on commercial product aspects.
  • Responsible for ensuring projects are on budget, delivered according to the agreed plan and any discrepancies are escalated.
  • Maintain compliance with all Regulatory, Legal and Quality requirements.

Departmental responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the discussion and creation of the annual budget, identifying spend and potential savings for the year ahead.
  • Contribute to the discussions around the operational planning that implements the department strategy.
  • Lead the representation of the department on cross functional project teams. Input into discussions on budget and timelines, and ensure wider audience is aware of assigned actions.
  • Act as a role model for management attributes, demonstrating focus, flexibility and creativity, and create an environment in which people are encouraged and able to model these behaviours.
  • Attend team meetings and engage with internal and external stakeholders providing support and subject leadership as required.
  • Act as primary contact with third party external partners.

Qualifications And Skills



  • Scientific degree, Masters or similar including relevant industry experience.
  • At least two years experience of commercial product management is required, but specific pharmaceutical experience is not required.
  • Broad scientific knowledge, with a desire for continuous expansion and learning ability.
  • A proven strategic thinker with a passion for building products through insight and collaboration.
  • Excellent project management skills with a high level of attention to detail, including when under pressure.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Experience of pharmaceutical product management is not required.
  • Ability to create and maintain strong working relationships across the organisation and with external partners.
  • Strong negotiation skills, and confidence in challenging co-workers or third parties, whilst ensuring relationships are maintained.
  • Enthusiasm and personal initiative to solve problems, a self-starter who consistently works in a proactive manner, whether working autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to think critically and outside the box.
  • Result-oriented and takes ownership and accountability to deliver objectives on time and to budget.
  • Develop and improve the procedures and processes used by the department, identifying problem areas, proposing and implementing robust solutions in order to improve efficiency and consistency.
