Job summary
A leading company in the Food Ingredients sector is seeking a Product Manager to manage supplier relationships and oversee product P&L. What you'll do
- Manage business relationships with suppliers, including engagement with management, technical, marketing, and supply teams.
- Be responsible for the P&L of selected products within market segments.
- Assist in implementing and executing procurement, supply, sales, marketing, financial, and logistical strategies.
- Negotiate pricing and buying plans.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and accounts payable to resolve issues and streamline supply chain processes.
- Work with marketing on campaigns, product promotion, and supplier engagement.
- Provide market updates to the sales team and coordinate training with suppliers.
- Prepare and submit reports as required.
- Mentor the Field Sales Organization and other teams on issues like pricing, service, procurement, and supply.
- Facilitate business growth and communication in the assigned market.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and/or product management.
- Experience in the Food Ingredients industry is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills for strategic, data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
- High decision-making ability balancing supplier needs and company objectives.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven financial leadership capabilities.
- Broad knowledge of the chemical distribution business.
- This is a home-based role with some travel for meetings, trade shows, and training.
