Job summary

JetBrains, the maker of developer tools, seeks a Technical Product Manager to improve IntelliJ IDEA's Scala support. This hands-on role focuses on understanding developer needs, running user interviews, and turning insights into practical product improvements for the Scala plugin.

You will work with engineers, maintain reference projects, align roadmaps with Scala compiler releases, and represent the product externally at conferences and in community interactions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing in Scala or leading Scala-focused features.
• Minimum five years in technical product management or similar.
• Strong written and spoken English communication for technical and exec audiences.
• Experience with AI coding tools and agent concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the Scala plugin product vision for fast, correct IDE support.
• Ground decisions in user interviews and usage data.
• Work with engineers to prototype and validate DX improvements.
• Maintain reference projects and showcase new features.
• Align plugin roadmap with Scala language and IntelliJ release cycles.
• Represent the product externally at conferences and in community channels.
