Job summary

Technical Prospects Ltd in North Yorkshire is seeking a Product Development Manager to lead the Product Development team, turning market and customer requirements into practical, manufacturable solutions. You will oversee end-to-end design delivery, manage CAD models and BOMs, ensure validation, documentation and product release, and collaborate with production, support and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• STEM degree preferred.
• Solid experience in product development, design engineering, application engineering, or related technical leadership role.
• Strong product design capability across mechanical, electrical, automotive, industrial, transportation, aerospace, agricultural or earthmoving applications.
• Experience managing technical teams, planning workloads, prioritising resources, tracking actions, and delivery control.
• Competent in CAD, preferably SolidWorks, plus BOMs, drawings, specifications, test plans, reports, and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Product Development team and be responsible for end-to-end product design delivery, design control, workload planning, technical decision-making, resource prioritisation, and team performance.
• Translate product requirements into practical design solutions, oversee CAD models, drawings, BOMs, test plans, validation activity, technical documentation, design reviews, and product release outputs.
• Support type approval, liaise with test facilities and notified bodies where required, and ensure product knowledge is embedded across production, product support, and commercial teams.
