Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking a Development Project Manager in South Wales for a well-established manufacturer. You will lead multiple research and development initiatives, coordinating with Engineering, Production, Quality and Sales to move designs into full production and commercial rollout.

The role requires a manufacturing/engineering background, strong CAD literacy and proven leadership to drive product development while controlling timelines and costs.

Qualifications

• Formal project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP).
• Proven track record managing product development in manufacturing/engineering.
• Understanding of metal fabrication and architectural detailing.
• Strong CAD literacy and ability to read technical drawings.
• Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills.
• Experience leading and developing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple R&D projects to meet timelines and budgets.
• Produce detailed technical files, drawings and test evidence for certification and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, quality and sales for smooth transfer to production.
• Identify opportunities for design simplification, cost reduction and efficiency.
• Work with suppliers and partners to develop new assemblies.
• Monitor risks and manage design changes with robust approvals.
