Job summary

Stafforce Recruitment is seeking a Product Development Engineer in Loughborough to own product testing, technical documentation, and cross-functional support. This role focuses on delivering robust product enhancements from concept to launch.

You will work on prototype testing, ensure compliance, and prepare technical reports while collaborating with Purchasing, Marketing, Customer Service, and Sales teams. On-site only, salary £32,000-£40,000 DOE.

Qualifications

• Experience in product development, engineering or technical product support.
• Strong knowledge of testing, validation and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to produce clear technical reports and documentation.
• An analytical, methodical and detail-focused approach to problem solving.
• Confidence working collaboratively across technical and commercial teams.
• A practical, hands-on approach to engineering and product improvement.
• Practical interests such as car or motorcycle maintenance would be advantageous, although not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support product development from initial concept through to commercial launch.
• Design and carry out prototype testing to validate product performance and durability.
• Review relevant compliance requirements and testing standards.
• Prepare technical reports, product specifications and supporting documentation.
• Complete product inspections and quality checks before and after launch.
• Support root cause analysis and non-conformance reporting.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical systems and processes.
• Maintain calibration records and support quality assurance activities.
• Provide technical input to Purchasing, Marketing, Customer Service, Service and Sales teams.
• Support product training, technical documentation and customer-facing materials.
