Job summary

Chroma Recruitment in Lancaster is seeking a Product Development & Design Engineer to join a growing team. The role covers the full product lifecycle, from concept through to manufacture, with ownership of projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical design background, be proficient with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred), and have a track record of taking products from concept to production.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience within a Product Design, Development or Mechanical Design role
• Proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Experience developing products from concept through to production
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DfM)
• Experience creating engineering drawings, BOMs and technical documentation
• Strong problem-solving and project management skills
• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or similar
• Experience with injection moulded products or similar manufacturing processes (beneficial)

Responsibilities

• Work across the full product lifecycle from concept to manufacture with ownership of projects.
• Develop innovative products, produce detailed designs, and support prototype and production activities.
• Collaborate with a growing engineering team on new product development and continuous improvement.

An innovative engineering company is looking to add a Product Development & Design Engineer to their growing team. Chroma are supporting the search to help meet increasing demand and support the development of new products across a diverse range of applications.

This Product Development & Design Engineer role offers the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, from concept generation through to manufacture, with genuine ownership of projects. You will join a collaborative engineering team, developing innovative products, producing detailed designs, and supporting prototype and production activities.
