Job summary

A leading manufacturing organisation in Whitstable is seeking a Design Engineer to join their engineering department. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing new products and concepts, creating and verifying technical drawings using CAD. Ideal candidates will be qualified to HNC/HND or above and have experience in injection moulding and LEAN processes. This role offers a competitive, negotiable salary based on experience.

Qualifications

• Qualification in HNC/HND or above in engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Experience with injection moulding, fibre optics, and electrical connectors preferred.
• Experience with FMEA and LEAN manufacturing processes is desirable.
• Familiarity with CREO software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare manufacturing instructions for new products.
• Resolve manufacturing issues during the design process.
• Work closely with design briefs to clarify details and discrepancies.
• Engage with customers during the design phase.
• Provide a formal handover to the pre-production team.

Design Engineer

Based in Whitstable

Salary Negotiable

Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation, is on the lookout for a new Design Engineer to join the engineering department. Within the role you will be responsible for the design of new products and concepts in-line with business requirements.

As the successful Design Engineer you will be involved in the creation, verification and preparation of detailed technical design drawings using CAD and Microsoft software packages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare manufacturing instructions as required for new products.
• Resolve potential manufacturing issues early on in the design stages of the product.
• Work closely with design briefs to resolve details and discrepancies or to prepare unusual and complex works.
• Have contact with internal and external customers during the design process.
• Provide a formal handover to the pre-production team.

Qualifications

• Ideally be qualified to HNC/HND or above in a relevant area.
• Ideally have experience with injection moulding, fibre optics and electrical connectors.
• Ideally have experience of FMEA processes and LEAN processes.
• Ideally have experience of CREO.
