The Role

We are seeking a passionate mid-level Product Designer to join our expanding design team in London, UK. You will play a vital role in helping Plum develop intuitive, user-centred financial products. As a member of one of our squads, you will be responsible for the design output of that team. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional team members and other designers to ensure that every aspect of the product aligns with user needs, business objectives, and Plum's mission to promote financial well-being.

What You Will Do

• Solve user problems from beginning to end, from research to implementing polished flows and interactions with engineers.
• Collaborate with other designers to establish Plum's design processes, tooling setup, and core principles.
• Sketch and prototype ideas with your team to assess their viability before fleshing out the finer details and interactions.
• Use research and testing to validate your work and build empathy and understanding of Plum's users.
• Partner with Product Managers to define how the product works and looks in future iterations.
• Work closely with Engineers to build, iterate, and ship your ideas.

Who You Are

• A product thinker who cares about the impact of your designs on users.
• Someone with a human-centered design process, utilizing data and research, and validating through testing.
• A brilliant communicator capable of explaining and rationalizing your design decisions and receptive to feedback.
• Able to work independently but also collaborative, knowing when to seek help.
• Fluent in designing for mobile devices with a strong portfolio of interaction and visual design projects.
• Having 3+ years of experience shipping digital products, understanding how they get built.
• Proficient in iOS and Android design, knowing when to reuse patterns or go custom. And importantly, understanding that chips, toasts, and snack bars are more than just tasty treats.
