Job Title: Product Designer

Location: Remote/Flexible-working (if you live in London, you can join us for co-working days)., Preference for UK based, but open to exceptional candidates out-of-country

We're hiring a UX/UI Designer who cares deeply about creating digital experiences that feel human, accessible, and empowering. In this role, you’ll shape the end-to-end design of our product and support user research efforts to ensure our service truly meets the needs of young people and families facing mental health challenges.

ABOUT US

Speek Health is on a mission to address the teenage mental health epidemic by blending AI and clinical science to rethink how mental healthcare is delivered to families.

We are a group of high impact mission driven clinicians, technologists and seasoned entrepreneurs, who have first hand experience, both professional and personal, of caring for a loved one struggling with their mental health. Together, we're bringing a digital revolution to the family mental health space.

We are building the most effective way to break the cycle of teenage self-harm. Success to us means no family should suffer alone. We're a well-funded, pre-seed stage startup backed by UK’s top impact investors like Octopus Ventures First Cheque Fund, Zinc and Family Offices.

We're building a mighty team by empowering our clinicians and product experts with the autonomy, flexibility, and resources to do their best work. We dream big and iterate fast. If that sounds like home, we'd love to hear from you. Come work with our founding team, it will be a fun ride

This is a great fit if you want to…

  • Make an impact : Contribute to a tech-enabled service that delivers a meaningful and measurable impact on family mental health, directly improving well-being for children and young people by providing access to evidence-based support and fostering a compassionate community
  • Build something from the ground up : Join an early-stage, mission-driven company where you'll have the unique opportunity to build a content and learning design strategy and framework from the ground up, directly shaping our brand and future direction
  • Live and work anywhere : We are remote-first and highly engaged. While we believe you can work from anywhere, we also value human connection and have an office space in central London for get-togethers
  • Feel like you belong: Our team members come from a widely diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. We are building a culture of kindness, inclusivity and excellence

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You must:

  • Have 4+ years of experience as a UX/UI Designer working on digital products, preferably in health, education, or other impact-driven sectors
  • Demonstrate strong end-to-end design skills: from user flows and wireframes to polished UI and prototypes (Figma or your preference of tool)
  • Be confident leading user research activities – interviews, usability tests, surveys – and using insights to inform design decisions
  • Show empathy and sensitivity in your design process, especially when designing for vulnerable users or emotionally complex journeys
  • Be skilled at creating accessible, inclusive, and mobile-first experiences
  • Be able to work independently while collaborating closely with product, engineering, content, and our clinical team
  • Be comfortable designing across the full user journey — from onboarding to ongoing engagement to exit
  • Have experience using design systems (and ideally creating one from scratch)
  • Bring a mindset of iteration, testing, and continuous improvement

Bonus, but not required:

  • Experience designing for young people, families, or mental health services
  • Experience working in a regulated or clinically-sensitive environment
  • Understanding of how to integrate AI or automation into user experiences

WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES

  • Product Design : Lead design of our mobile-first product experience, working across user flows, wireframes, UI design, and handoff to engineering
  • Service Journey Mapping : Visualise the end-to-end user journey across clinical touchpoints, tech interfaces, and content layers to ensure cohesion and clarity
  • User Research & Insights : Collaborate with the Product Manager to plan and conduct user research, translate insights into action, and bring the user voice into every design decision
  • Design System & Brand Expression : Define and evolve our design language, ensuring visual consistency and brand alignment across every touchpoint
  • Prototyping & Testing : Rapidly prototype and test design ideas with users to validate hypotheses and refine user experience
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Work hand-in-hand with our content, engineering, and clinical teams to co-create experiences that are safe, supportive, and engaging
  • Continuous Improvement : Use feedback, analytics, and user input to identify areas of improvement and evolve the product experience over time

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Equity options grant
  • Flexible remote work opportunities
  • All 3-day weekends turned into 4-day weekends
  • Paw-care leave — get a day off with your family member
  • Also, bring up what matters to you the most - remote working, flexibility, salary, equity or something else and we shall work together to make it happen!
