We are excited to share that we are looking for an experienced Product Designer to join us on a permanent basis here at Optum, working within our EMIS-X product set.

You will be joining a team with great knowledge and skills, but we are a company that embraces new ideas, innovative solutions, and creating efficiencies to ensure we continue to deliver value through better care via technology innovation. We want you to contribute your knowledge and expertise; we want to hear you.

This is a fantastic time to join us as our business continues to grow. You will play a key role in working with the wider Product Experience Design team to shape the future experience for our General Practice end users.

If you want to be part of a company where you are valued, your work makes a difference, and you have the chance to create user-centered design solutions for our future GP product with the latest healthcare technologies, then apply today!

This Product Designer position is a remote working role, though our team meets monthly for PI sessions.

What You’ll Do

As a Product Designer, you will promote and apply user-centered and evidence-based design best practices to understand the needs and motivations of our end users and define solutions that meet those needs and the business goals.

The Product Experience Design team, working alongside User Researchers, will help you understand pain points, contribute to our Design System, and craft innovative experiences to delight users. Your role will be varied, from facilitating cross-functional ideation sessions to observing usability testing and more.

Other key responsibilities include:
  1. Identify UX activities and deliverables appropriate to each project.
  2. Develop user journeys, task flows, storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate ideas and validate solutions with stakeholders and users.

Within this supportive team, you will have opportunities to grow your UX design capabilities across an exciting product portfolio using cutting-edge technology.

Who You’ll Be

We need an experienced Product Designer passionate about innovation and user-centered solutions. You should be inquisitive, collaborative, and able to understand customer and stakeholder needs.

Experience working in fast-paced environments and embracing cross-functional collaboration is essential. You should also have experience engaging with user research methodologies and effectively communicating with engineers, product owners, and other team members to share the UX vision.

Professional skills required include:
  1. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  2. Ability to clearly communicate design decisions based on insights.
  3. Expertise in Figma, with a good understanding of working with a Design System to deliver high-fidelity designs and prototypes.

If this sounds like the role for you, we want to hear from you! Apply now.
