Starkey Recruitment Group is partnering with a well-established Tamworth-based business to recruit a Product Design Engineer. You’ll design, develop and improve lighting and electrical accessory products, taking concepts through prototyping to manufacture and launch, with cross-functional collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams.

Qualifikationen

• Previous experience in Product Design, Mechanical Design or Product Development Engineering.
• Experience using 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks, although training can be provided.
• A good understanding of injection moulding, plastics and manufacturing processes.
• Experience developing products from concept through to production.
• Knowledge of prototyping, product testing and design validation.
• Strong mechanical engineering principles and practical problem-solving skills.
• The ability to produce clear technical drawings and specifications.

Aufgaben

• Design and develop innovative new products from initial concept through to manufacture and launch.
• Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs, technical drawings and product specifications.
• Develop product concepts using creative problem-solving and sound engineering principles.
• Design components suitable for injection moulding and other manufacturing processes.
• Build, evaluate and test prototypes to ensure products meet performance, quality and functional requirements.
• Work closely with suppliers and overseas manufacturing partners to ensure successful production.
• Review product samples, identify potential improvements and resolve technical challenges.
• Prepare technical documentation, installation instructions, product specifications and compliance information.
• Support the development of new lighting products, luminaires and other innovative product ranges.
• Participate in design reviews and present technical solutions to senior management.
• Ensure products comply with relevant UK quality, safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues across design, technical, quality and manufacturing departments.
