Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with a high-achieving secondary school on the outskirts of Swindon seeking a Design Technology Teacher specialising in Product Design.

The role is full-time from January 2027 to August 2027, based in Swindon, Wiltshire, with responsibility for GCSE examination classes and leading Product Design across relevant Key Stages.

You will plan engaging lessons, monitor progress, support coursework, and collaborate with a supportive DT department to drive pupil outcomes.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching Design Technology, with Product Design focus.
• Experience leading GCSE exam classes to completion.
• Proven track record of improving GCSE results.
• Strong classroom management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Teach Design Technology with focus on Product Design.
• Plan and deliver GCSE lessons; lead exam preparation.
• Monitor progress and intervene to close gaps.
• Support coursework and NEA requirements.
• Collaborate within the Design Technology department.
