Leonardo is recruiting a Product Assurance Manager to support the GCAP Electronics Evolution Consortium (G2E) at our Reading site.

You will coordinate QA activities across partner companies and drive compliance with quality standards for ISANKE and non-kinetic systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM or business related topic.
• Experience in a Quality or Product Assurance role.
• Understanding of ISO 9001.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Evidence of collaboration skills across geographic locations to form partnerships.
• Familiar with handling Government Furnished Equipment/Property during tests.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with subsystem interfaces and partner companies to ensure design reviews meet quality standards and drive cost-improvement actions.
• Support improvement initiatives related to defects, fault analysis and failures with engineering.
• Oversee Functional/Configuration audits and configuration management activities and provide support.
• Assist Programme Manager with quality-related customer activities.
• Manage product non-conformities in line with standards and procedures.
• Conduct product acceptance activities.
• Ensure processes meet internal and customer requirements and maintain documentation coherency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to address key management issues and coordinate where needed.

Your Impact

At Leonardo we are recruiting for a Product Assurance Manager to work on our GCAP Electronics Evolution Consortium (G2E) at our Reading site. G2E brings together four world-leading defence electronics champions, from three nations (Italy, UK and Japan), as a single strategic enabling partner, with one vision...to deliver the Integrated Sensors And Non-Kinetic Effects and Integrated Communications Systems (ISANKE & ics) that will make the GCAP next-generation fighter jet, a sensor powerhouse.

Responsibilities

As a Product Assurance Manager, you will perform a coordinating role across a Sub-System interfacing with your equivalents in the Partner companies working with them to assure that:

• internal/external program design reviews to ensure compliance with quality standards and identify improvement and cost efficiency actions are performed
• improvement initiatives related to product defects, fault analysis, and failures in conjunction with the engineering department are supported when requested
• the execution of Functional Configuration and Product Configuration Audits and configuration management activities are being undertaken and provide support when requested
• Programme Manager has support in quality related customer-related activities.
• product Non-Conformities in compliance with standards and procedures are being managed
• product acceptance activities are being undertaken
• processes to assess compliance with internal standards and customer requirements are in place and effective, providing support where needed
• the coherency and availability of contractual documentation is being verified
• First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with EN9102 are being undertaken, providing support when requested
• Reviews of documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure compliant products are delivered to the customer are undertaken
• Collaboration with stakeholders to address and resolve key management issues is being undertaken, taking a support or co-ordinating role if asked to do so

What you’ll bring:

Essential

• A degree in a STEM or business related topic
• Experience of working in a Quality or Product Assurance role
• An understanding of ISO 9001
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Evidence of good collaboration skills and cross geographic working, to reach agreements and form partnerships
• Familiar with requirements for handling and control of Government Furnished Equipment/Property during field, ground or operational tests

This role will require National Security Vetting to SC level. It is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. A range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) will apply, this will include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
