Job summary

Safran Gloucester is seeking a Procurement Specialist to proactively manage a portfolio of suppliers, ensuring we have a world-class supply chain into site. You’ll drive supplier performance, support multisite reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to transfer work packages smoothly.

You’ll need demonstrable SAP knowledge, strong negotiation and influencing skills, and a willingness to travel to supplier sites as required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable working knowledge of SAP.
• Significant supplier and order book management experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Experience in manufacturing/production environment.
• Proven ability to negotiate and influence suppliers using your broad understanding of business and your astute commercial awareness.
• Available and willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of suppliers to ensure our requirements are met.
• Working with poor performing suppliers to analyse the impacts of an improvement request and implement an action plan.
• Participate in multisite supplier business reviews with a cross functional team (CFT).
• Work within a CFT to ensure successful work package transfers within the Supply Chain.
• Support the Supplier Performance Quality Leader in the effective implementation of Supplier Performance strategy and initiatives.
• Manage internal expectations with key customers to ensure full customer satisfaction.
• Due to the nature of this role, there will be some travel required, visiting supplier sites when required on an ad-hoc basis.
