Job summary

Safran is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist at our Gloucester site to proactively manage supplier portfolios and ensure a world-class supply chain into the site. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to drive improvements, transfers, and performance initiatives.

The role requires experience in engineering/manufacturing, strong supplier negotiation, and willingness to travel to supplier sites as needed.

Qualifications

• SAP experience in supply chain context.
• Significant supplier and order book management experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• Experience in manufacturing/production environment.
• Proven ability to negotiate and influence suppliers with commercial awareness.
• Available and willing to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of suppliers to meet requirements.
• Analyse impacts of improvement requests with underperforming suppliers and implement plans.
• Participate in multisite supplier reviews with cross functional team.
• Ensure successful work package transfers within the Supply Chain with a CFT.
• Support Supplier Performance Leader in implementing strategy and initiatives.
• Manage internal expectations with key customers for satisfaction.

About the role

As part of our Procurement team, the Supply Chain Specialist will proactively manage a portfolio of suppliers ensuring we have a world class supply chain into site. You'll have opportunities to learn and progress, with investment being made on site it's an exciting time to join our growing local team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of suppliers to ensure our requirements are met
• Working with poor performing suppliers to analyse the impacts of an improvement request and implement an action plan
• Participate in multisite supplier business reviews with a cross functional team (CFT)
• Work within a CFT to ensure successful work package transfers within the Supply Chain
• Support the Supplier Performance Quality Leader in the effective implementation of Supplier Performance strategy and initiatives
• Manage internal expectations with key customers to ensure full customer satisfaction

Due to the nature of this role, there will be some travel required, visiting supplier sites when required on an ad-hoc basis.

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrable working knowledge of SAP
• Significant supplier and order book management experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment
• Experience in manufacturing/production environment
• Proven ability to negotiate and influence suppliers using your broad understanding of business and your astute commercial awareness
• Available and willingness to travel as and when required
