Job summary

Talent Finder is representing a world-class manufacturer in Rochdale seeking a Purchasing/Spares Assistant. You will support the buyer with product selection, purchasing, supplier negotiations and order management, while assisting the spares team with quoting and order fulfilment.

You will help maintain ERP data, ensure timely purchases to specification and at a competitive price, and contribute to accurate records and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of basic ledger management.
• Good knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Organised, able to work on own initiative.
• Previous customs experience; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the buyer with product selection.
• Creating and chasing purchase and sales orders.
• Ensuring products are purchased at the right time, to specification and at a competitive price.
• Negotiating with suppliers and building positive, long-term relationships.
• Maintaining accurate information on the ERP system.
• Working to tight deadlines.
• Researching new suppliers and making recommendations to the buyer.
• Assisting with the shipping of goods.
